Creator Terms
These terms apply when you turn your ReelMe generations into templates that other people can use. Please read them before you submit your first template.
About these terms
These Creator Terms apply when you use the ReelMe Creator Program to turn your generations into templates that other people can use. They add to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which continue to apply to everything you do on ReelMe.
This is version 1.0 of the Creator Terms. When we publish a new version, you need to accept it before you can create or submit templates again.
Becoming a creator
You become a creator the first time you make a template and accept these terms.
- Each account has one creator profile, shared by the ReelMe web and app.
- Your account needs a verified email address, and an email can belong to only one creator profile.
- Your creator profile is public: anyone can see your username, display name, profile photo, bio and live templates. Your email is never shown.
- We give you a username when you join. You can change it; your old username is released right away and links to it stop working.
What goes into a template
- A template starts from one of your own successful generations in ReelMe Image or Video Studio that you paid credits for. Free generations, and generations made with another creator's template, can't become templates.
- For each image of that generation, you choose whether it stays fixed or whether people replace it with their own image. Every template needs at least one image that people replace.
- Fixed images and example images are copied into the template and are visible to everyone who uses it. Only add images you're comfortable for anyone to see.
- Your prompt is never shown to people who use your template.
- We never tell you who ran your template and never show you what they uploaded. You see usage numbers only.
Your content
- Only submit content you have the rights to use and share, including the consent of any person who appears in it.
- Templates must follow our Terms of Service, including the Prohibited Behaviour section.
Review
- Every template is reviewed by our team before anyone else can use it. We may approve or reject it, and when we reject it we tell you why.
- You can change the name, prompt and labels of a rejected template; it then goes back into review. Images and the fixed or replaceable choice of each image can't be changed. To change them, make a new template.
- If you edit a live template, the edit is reviewed first. The current version stays live until the edit is approved. If the edit is rejected, only the edit is dropped.
- When every image in an approved template can be replaced, we may also publish it in the ReelMe app.
- We notify you when a template is approved or rejected.
Using a template
- People who run your template pay credits. A template costs the same as the template your original generation used, with the same options.
- Only live templates can be run, including by you.
Earnings
- When someone other than you completes a paid run of your template, you earn credits.
- Runs that were free for the user, and your own runs, don't earn credits.
- ReelMe sets how many credits you earn per run and may change it.
- Earnings are kept in a separate creator balance, shown in credits with a USD value set by ReelMe.
- Usage numbers include free runs, so they can be higher than the number of runs that earned credits.
- Earnings can't be withdrawn yet.
Deleting a template
- You can delete a template at any time. It is removed from the web and the app for good and can't be restored.
- Results that people already made with it stay in their accounts.
Suspension
- We may suspend a creator profile. While it is suspended, all of your templates are offline on the web and in the app, and you can't submit new ones.
- If we reactivate your profile, your published templates come back online.
